The Meadowcreek Village Neighborhood Collection contains historical information about the Meadowcreek Village neighborhood located in southeast Houston, Texas. The bulk of materials are related to its central church, St. Augustine Catholic Church. Meadowcreek Village is a neighborhood in southeast Houston, Texas; and was one of the city’s first planned neighborhoods. Led by developer and architect Robert W. Clemens, the area was planned with an elementary school, central church (St. Augustine Catholic Church), and nearby shopping, and development began in late 1950. Berry Bayou cuts through the neighborhood, and connects to Sims Bayou to the north. The Parish of St. Augustine was formed in 1955 and serves the greater Meadowcreek Village, Oak Meadows, Forest Oaks, and Allendale areas of Houston and western Pasadena.en_US
