This accession of Rockwell Downey Documents was collected in the History Office over a period of 10 years in preparation for and as source documents to be used in the writing of a Shuttle Chronology. Included are Shuttle Phase A and Phase B documents (early Shuttle concept design contracts) from the late 1960s and early 1970s as well as NAS9-14000 (Shuttle design and development contract) reports and presentation material dated through 1992. An addenda beginning in Box 85 includes additional Rockwell materials received primarily from PDC (Program Document Center) before its integration with the Scientific & Technical Information Center. The date range of the addenda is 1970 through 1989. The subseries is arranged in chronological order and contained in 91 archival manuscript boxes.
